  • Ergotek praised for comfort over leather and Safariland

I have been wearing the Accumold ErgoTek since 1999. It's the best belt out there, period. Made a huge difference switching to the ErgoTek from the regular Bianchi nylon belt. I use a Safariland 6285 holster on the ErgoTek. The pillows on the inside of the ErgoTek makes everything fit a bit tighter so it's more secure. The leather is more uncomfortable as I have the bruises on my pelvis from the leather duty setup but not with the Accumold ErgoTek setup.

  • Durability and buckle concerns with Bianchi nylon

I was happy with the Bianchi and Safariland nylon belts, but I just wasn't happy with the buckle/connectors on either of them. They failed too often, and they didn't have a locking mechanism. I've seen they've improved them greatly over the years.

  • Long-term durability of Bianchi nylon belt

I have used Bianchi Accumold for about 5 years now. I am still on my same set of gear. It has lasted through 4.5 years of patrol, plus made it all the way though recruit school w/o any problems. I would recommend it highly. It is starting to show some wear in a few spots, but overall still is in very good shape.

  • Sizing advice for Ergotek duty belt

I wear 36 pants but got the Bianchi Ergotek in 38...One size up also allows less pressure on the hips and back. I wear same size you do and I have the smaller one. If you can fit into the smaller one get it bc you will have way less overlap across your belt from the excess belt length.

  • Current use and buckle preference

Now I use a Bianchi nylon belt, belt keepers, one pouch, and a radio. I've used it for 15 years on patrol. No issues with the buckle or the velcro. I like it. I can't complain.
