Compared To
vs Fisher-Price swings (e.g., Snugapuppy)
Often compared for reliability and AC power; Ingenuity is seen as smaller and cheaper but with worse battery life and swing motor durability.
vs Graco DuetSoothe / Baby Delight bouncer
Ingenuity ConvertMe offers both swing and seat, but the locking mechanism for seat mode is seen as less robust; bouncers are more portable and don't require batteries for motion.
vs Mamaroo
Mamaroo is pricier but has AC power, different motion, and better reliability reports; Ingenuity is a budget alternative with simpler motion.

ConvertMe Swing-2-Seat reliability concerns and battery life frustrations
I did a lot of research and really wanted to like it. It's a great size and the ability to convert to a seat is nice, but the motor stopped working after 3 weeks. I changed the batteries multiple times and it would only swing with a specific weight distribution. Also, no AC adapter means you'll spend a fortune on D batteries. Check Facebook marketplace for a used Fisher Price swing instead. The manual push to start is annoying too.

Not recommended due to swing mechanism failures and noise
Ours stopped swinging after about a month. We tried new batteries, unplugged/replugged, but the motor just whirred without moving the seat. The swing also makes a loud clicking noise that drove me crazy and woke the baby. I'd avoid it and look for something with better reviews on longevity. The MamaRoo and Graco swings have AC adapters, which is a huge plus.

Ingenuity as a questionable bouncer alternative
I wouldn't get the Ingenuity as a bouncer replacement. The seat doesn't bounce at all; it just vibrates. The vibration is weak, and you have to use a separate C battery. For a bouncer, just get a Baby Bjorn or Baby Delight. The swing feature is okay, but my baby didn't care for it, and the assembly was a bit tricky with the screws and getting the fabric on right. It's also wider than a regular bouncer.

Space-saving but unreliable—skip the swing function
We used the seat mode more than the swing. The swing motor is temperamental; it would slow down or stop if the baby moved. It eats batteries. If I could go back, I'd just get a simple vibrating bouncer seat. But the ConvertMe does fold flat, which was handy in our tiny apartment. Don't pay full price; it's not worth it. Better off with a Graco simple sway or a secondhand Fisher-Price cradle swing.

Mixed early impressions: compact but with quirks
We bought the Ingenuity ConvertMe because our living room is small and we needed something portable. Putting it together took 30 minutes; the instructions were all pictures. It doesn't start swinging unless you give it a push, and it seems to need the baby to be in the seat for it to swing properly. My 2-month-old isn't sure about the vibrations yet, but she likes watching the mobile. The fold is really nice, and the seat pad is easy to remove and wash. I'm just worried about how long it'll last given the reviews about the motor.
