Source Threads

  • Any thoughts on Umarex Glock 19? Is it a good sidearm?

It's a decent pistol. The externals are really nice, trades are crisp, and it feels like a real Glock. But out of the box it can be hit or miss. Mine had slide lock issues and the gas efficiency wasn't great until I polished the rails and filed the locking block. Once you do that, it runs pretty well. Compared to a TM, the TM will shoot better stock but won't have the trademarks. If you want realism, go EF. If you want performance, go TM.

  • Opinions on the Elite Force Glock 19 Gen3 GBB

I have one and like it after doing some work. The licensing and look are the main selling points. Out of the box, the slide was sluggish and gas consumption was terrible. I had to file down the locking block and now it cycles well. Magazines are pricey. Some prefer WE or TM because they work better without tinkering, but if you don't mind a bit of work, it's a great replica.

  • Elite Force Glock 19 Review and Mod Guide

After filing the locking block and polishing the rails, I got 4 mags per fill and the slide locks back every time. Recoil improved drastically. Gas consumption is still not amazing but useable. It's a solid platform once you address the factory flaws. Also, the rear sight can slide off—I'd recommend gluing it.

  • Umarex Glocks... are they any good?

They're okay but overpriced for what you get. The externals are great, but the internals often need work. If you're set on a Glock with trades, it's the only option. Otherwise, a WE or TM will give better performance for less money. The mags are expensive and gas efficiency isn't great. Still, as a training tool or sidearm, it does the job after some TLC.
