Rear-facing travel car seat discussion
This Cosco seat is a seat that is perfectly appropriate for an infant rear facing but ALSO can be forward facing. They’re quite lightweight, perfectly safe, and very reasonable on cost.

Real reviews for cheap Evenflo/Cosco seats
I uber all the time with my toddler and we use the Cosco Onlook car seat and use a harness to sit it on our travel stroller. It has worked extremely well and its lightweight and easy to install in cars. ... If you fly a lot, the Cosco one is super bulky though lightweight. My kid also didn’t like it as if it made her sore or something. It’s barely padded and just lightweight plastic.

Confused about the Cosco Scenera vs. Onlook
The biggest downside of the Cosco Onlook vs Scenera is the width. It’s SOOOOO wide – 5″ wider than the Scenera! ... but thanks to the higher harness height, skinny kids can comfortably forward face in the Cosco Onlook until at least 4 years old.

Car seat for travel for a 14 mo old
We got a Cosco one for traveling. It’s a no frills thing, but it’s light and gets the job done. This looks to be the newer version of what we have: https://coscokids.com/products/onlook-2-in-1-convertible-car-seat-cc331

Cosco Onlook or Scenera for flight?
We have the Cosco Onlook for travel. It is FAA approved and fits on the plane seat. But it’s definitely wider than the Scenera and harder to install in some cars. Still, for the price, it’s hard to beat.
