Le Creuset Essential 8" Non-Stick Ceramic Shallow Frying Pan (Black)

I replaced 8 year old nonstick pans that were well used over the years. I was cautious of the nonstick coating with reports they were toxic. I went to Le Creuset, as I thought they were the best. After using these 12 and 8 in pans for about 4 months they were in worse condition than the 8 year old pans I replaced! Never did they see a dishwasher and silicone utensils were only ever used. I contacted the warranty department and they were just as bad as the nonstick coating! They told me that was normal wear and tear and refused to replace. I paid so much for these pans that they were treated like royalty in my house. I didn't want my kids subjected to toxins. Le Creuset didn't care!

The nonstick coating is coming off of my pan. Not very nonstick. I never used metal utensils on it, never put it in the dishwasher.

I had high hopes about this non-stick pan, but it has been just about 1 year since I bought it and it already has scratches in the pan. I had been extra careful since we don't love cooking with PFOAS/PFAS but used this one on occasion. I never cooked it on high or put it in the oven/diswasher, and certainly only touched it with silicon/plastic utensils. The return/warranty program is basically non-existent. Very disappointed is an understatement.

I am surprised at how food is sticking in this pan. I had high hopes and paid top dollar for the Le Creuset name, but am finding this pan is not performing as it should. The larger size one I also purchased is far more non-stick. I don't have the time to return it, but wanted to share my review. The larger size pan has a big of a dome in the middle so liquids pool off to the edges. ALl in all...Le Creuset has some work to do on this series of non stick pans.

By far the best non stick pan I've used, and it's completely non toxic. I have used the larger version 100+ times and no signs of wear or non stick integrity. I've routinely gotten it to 450 degrees for seering meat and no issues with sticking. Even cheese just comes right off.

I've been surprised and a little disappointed at how effective the non-stick ceramic is. For the expense of a Le Creuset skillet, I expected much better performance. We've been diligent about following the directions that came with it as far as "seasoning" the skillet...but still find that food sticks to it more than expected. It's nice knowing that ceramic is a healthier option than many of the previous iterations of non-stick coatings. But, still disappointing at how non non-stick this is.
