Community Q&A

Is the Safety 1st Grow and Go Slim easy to install?
Many users find installation difficult, especially rear-facing in small cars; it may require a towel or pool noodle for proper angle and has tight LATCH connectors.
Will this seat last until my child no longer needs a booster?
Likely not; the booster height limit (52 inches) means most kids will outgrow it before passing the five-step test, requiring an additional booster purchase.
Does it fit three-across in a car?
Mixed reports; some say it fits due to slim design, others found it too wide. It may work in larger vehicles but not guaranteed in small cars.

Compared To

vs Graco 4Ever

vs Safety 1st Turn and Go 360 DLX

Turn and Go offers a swivel feature absent in the Grow and Go Slim, but the Slim is more compact and affordable.

  • Mixed opinions on Safety 1st Grow and Go Slim in r/toddlers

I love the harness holders. Installation was a little rough but that may have been user error. I had to put it in the most reclined position for rear facing even though it says you can use '2' for children who can hold their head up. When in 2 the seat leaned too far forward when tightened down. I think using a towel or pool noodle would solve that issue. The straps loosen with the push of a button to make getting the baby in and out easy. They tighten by pulling a strap so the straps are always snug. Great seat for the price.

  • Comparison of swivel seats vs. Grow and Go Slim in r/Buyingforbaby

We have the Safety 1st Turn and Go 360 DLX and love the swivel feature, but it's bulkier than the Grow and Go Slim. The Slim is better for compact cars. Installation on the Slim can be tough though; my friend had to use a towel to get the right angle.

  • Affordability and longevity concerns in r/NewParents

I went with the Safety 1st Grow and Go Slim because it was under $100 and slim enough for my Honda Civic. My son is comfortable, but I've heard the booster height limit is too short and we'll need another booster later. For the price, it's a good stopgap.

  • Swivel vs. Slim: user recommendation in r/Buyingforbaby

I bought the Grow and Go Slim and returned it because the straps wouldn't tighten enough—it was wobbly. Compared to the Evenflo 360, the Slim is harder to install. If you can afford the swivel, get it; otherwise, budget for a tech to install the Slim.
