We have a North States extra wide gate to keep our kiddos away from the fire place. It is a very long gate (60-103”) and is rigid but a little flimsy. It is wood but mine does have a little give. It was pretty cheap though. Everyone said to get the retract a gate but I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on a gate. Also we had to buy an extra support piece for the gate since ours was at the max length (install wood behind it for it to connect to).
