Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat with Toys (Starlight Bursts)
The Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat is a portable baby support seat designed for infants who can hold their head up unassisted (typically around 4 months), with a maximum weight capacity of 25 pounds. It provides a stable, padded seating area with wide leg openings and a fold-flat frame for easy travel and storage, and includes two removable toys (a clacker and BPA-free teether). Parents frequently use it for short supervised sessions during chores, feeding, or on trips, though it should be used in moderation to avoid delaying independent sitting milestones.

vs Bumbo seat
The Sit-Me-Up is preferred over the Bumbo for babies with chunky thighs as it has larger leg openings, and some find it more supportive.
vs Upseat
Some parents find the Upseat to be better for hip positioning but acknowledge the Sit-Me-Up is more widely available and popular.

Sit-Me-Up at 4 months with good head control
I have the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat and my 4 month old loves it! He can sit in it for 10-15 minutes while I cook dinner. He has great head control so I’m not worried. I know some people say not to use them but I think in moderation it’s fine.

Mixed opinions on developmental impact
We used the Sit-Me-Up with our first and she loved it, but our pediatrician said not to use it until she could tripod sit. Something about hip positioning. I’ve heard the Upseat is better for that but you can’t beat the price and convenience. We still use it in short bursts.

Great for short periods but tight for chunky babies
I loved this seat for my first but my second has super chunky thighs and it’s a pain getting him in and out. He fits but it squishes him. We use it for feeding solids sometimes before he was ready for the high chair. I prefer it over the Bumbo which was even tighter.

Safe usage guidelines and PT tips
My pediatrician said it’s okay as long as baby isn’t in it for hours and has good head control. I think about 15 minutes at a time. It’s not a babysitter. Also, make sure the seat is on the floor, not elevated, and supervise them because some babies try to lean out.

Portable and convenient, better than Bumbo
This seat saved my sanity! We took it everywhere—grandparents, park, even the beach. It folds pretty flat. It was way better than the Bumbo because my baby could wiggle more. I loved that it had toys attached. Just make sure you don’t put it on a bed or couch, only flat floor.

Good for travel and older babies who want to sit
We bought this for a trip when my son was 5 months and it was great for the hotel room. He loved sitting up and playing with the attached toys. It’s easy to clean—just throw the seat cover in the wash. I do recommend it, but only when they’re ready to sit with support.
