Bought the wide one (the 49 inch) a few months ago. My 18 month old figured out the latch in two weeks and now it's basically useless. Also kind of a PITA for adults to open, especially one handed. The fit was weird too even though I was within the range they list.

Warning against using Regalo pressure-mounted gate at top of stairs
We used a Regalo gate at the top of our stairs (pressure mounted) and it was terrifying. The first time my son leaned on it the whole thing shifted. We switched to a hardware mounted one. The Regalo is fine for doorways but please don't use it at the top of stairs like we did.

Review highlights broken weld and difficult latch on Regalo gate
I bought this gate for my dog and the weld at the door hinge snapped after two months of normal use. The latch also takes two hands to operate which is annoying when you're carrying a baby or laundry. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for.
