Fisher-Price Portable Baby Chair Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat (Pacific Pebble)
The Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat is a padded infant floor seat designed for babies who can hold their head up unassisted, typically from around 3-4 months until they can sit independently (around 6-8 months). It features a white plastic frame with a soft fabric seat in a mint green and terrazzo pattern, a removable toy bar with two hanging toys to encourage reaching and play, and a foldable design for portability. Physical therapist feedback indicates the seat positions hips better than similar products like the Bumbo, but it should be used in moderation (under 20-30 minutes at a time) and is not a substitute for floor time.

Community Q&A
- Is this seat safe for my baby's hips and development?
- Most sources agree that moderate use (under 20–30 minutes at a time, with plenty of floor time) is acceptable, and the design is better than the Bumbo. Some PTs recommend it.
- At what age can I start using this seat?
- When your baby has good head control, typically around 3–4 months, and until they can sit independently (around 6–8 months).
- Will it help my baby learn to sit?
- No, it does not teach sitting; it only supports the baby in a seated position. Active floor time is essential for building core muscles.
- How does it compare to the Bumbo?
- The Fisher-Price seat is generally preferred because it positions the hips better and is less likely to cause hip dysplasia, but it's still a container.
- Can a baby outgrow it quickly?
- Yes, many parents find the window of use is only a few months before the baby can sit independently or finds it uncomfortable.
Compared To
vs Bumbo
The Fisher-Price sit-me-up is generally seen as better for hip positioning than the Bumbo, though both are containers that should be used in moderation.
vs Upseat
Physical therapists often prefer the Upseat for its ergonomic design, but the Fisher-Price seat can be modified and is sometimes recommended for moderate use.
vs Floor time
Many parents and PTs emphasize that no container can replace floor time for development, and the seat should only be used sparingly.

PT recommends Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up over Bumbo for better hip positioning
They have some other types that keep the baby’s hips/legs positioned better than the bumbo. My sister is a PT and she did some research for me and found one that she said was good for use in moderation. I think it’s Fisher Price. Edit: yes, it’s the Fisher Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat. Approved by at least one real physical therapist for moderate use. Lol.

Fisher-Price sit-me-up well-liked but associated with 'sh*t me up' phenomenon
We had the fisher price sit me up and we liked it a lot. My son really enjoyed it for a few months. Beware- at home we called it the “sh*t me up” cause without fail he’d take a massive poop within the first 10 mins of sitting in it. Must have been something with the position/angle of how he sat in it.

Parent loved the sit-me-up for short supervised sessions, PT said it's fine
We loved our sit me up! We used it from about 3 months when he could hold his head up until sometime after 6 months when he was sitting on his own and stable. We only used it for like 20 min max at a time and did lots of floor time, but it helped my son as he wanted to see everything and it was better than lying him on the floor in the bathroom.

Physical therapist recommended Fisher-Price sit-me-up for correct posture
This is the one that was recommended to me by a physical therapist for correct back/hip position and to encourage them learning to sit independently! Only for moderate use of course, no container is good for frequent use.

OT/PT professionals often prefer Upseat but Fisher-Price can be modified
I’ve worked with OTs and PTs and they prefer the upseat or the bumbo multiseat. I haven’t seen them do it in person but I have seen online PTs modify the fisher price sit me up.

Larger baby got stuck in sit-me-up, highlighting fit issues
My baby was 15lbs at 8 weeks. I had the sit me up from my registry and tried to put him in it around 3-4 months (yeah, they need good neck control and ability to not flop around). He didn’t fit in it and I had to pry him out 😭. I was sad
