This expansion follows the tone of our original Couples Game and on the official product page it’s listed for teens/adults (ages 14+) and does not advertise explicit sexual content or profanity — it’s meant to expand the base game’s question set rather than push into NSFW territory. For clearly risqué or “spicy” prompts, choose The Couples Game Late Night (marketed as ages 17+ and described as flirty/mature).

Accepted Answer

Yes — the expansion cards are printed on the same FSC-certified cardstock and use the same card format as the base Couples Game, so they shuffle together. The expansion ships in its own tuck box but is specifically designed to be combined with the original game, and the cards can be added into the base game's box for storage.

We do not organize or label the 150 expansion cards by mood (e.g., “funny,” “deep,” or “spicy”); the pack is sold as 150 new question cards to draw and play. If you want to pick a mood for date night, we recommend shuffling and drawing for a random mix or pre-sorting the cards into mood piles yourself before you play.

This expansion is an add-on and only expects the base game’s writing component (whiteboards/writing tools) — you can easily substitute plain paper and pens (or any writing surface) to play. No cards require special pieces beyond writing and revealing your answers, so the expansion will work fine without the base set’s whiteboards.

We don’t include numbers or a table-of-contents — the expansion cards only show the category header (MATCH, BEST, ME OR YOU) and the question text, so there’s no built-in index to track played cards. You can mark or sort cards yourself if you want to remove specific topics.
