Great Booster Seat Overall

EEBrown2010

The Britax Skyline 2-Stage booster seat is overall a great seat. The seat comes without the back attached. All it takes is a simple click to make the booster a high back booster. Install was simple and quick, with easy to follow instructions. In our Honda Odyssey we weren’t able to get as tight of an install as other seats we own. This seat feels very sturdy and safe. My daughter says it’s comfortable and she loves the cup holders. She’s able to easily buckle herself in properly thanks to the easy to follow belt path. Overall, this is a great seat and I would recommend it to a friend. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing this seat in exchange for this honest review.

So sleek and cozy!!

We have had many different Britax car seats over the years and have been pleased with all of them. But, what makes this booster seat stand out is the material it is made with as it not only looks great but it also feels great. My 10YO son, who desperately does not want to be in a booster seat any longer, was very pleased with how he felt in this seat. To his surprise, he said it was very comfortable and he could appreciate how lux the material it is made with is. My 8YO daughter wants a new car seat now, too! It was super easy to install, which is great because when you have to take it out, it's easy to put right back in!

Fantastic safety, easy to use and comfortable!

I am a mother of two, and have always been a fan of Britax and have loved our Britax seats in the past. My six year old has been in a harnessed seat up to this point and is just now at a height and weight where belt positioning seats are an option for her - so we were both excited to try this seat! I am incredibly particular when it comes to carseat fit, installation and safety - and I feel that this seat was a major success in all categories! The Skyline has two layers of side impact protection, and the 10 position headrest allows for a perfect fit as your child grows. Beyond its wonderful safety features, there are a lot of positive aspects to the Britax Skyline. First, it is very lightweight and easy to carry and move between vehicles. Although we used the seat only in high back mode, I LOVE that it goes from high back to backless booster - this will be fantastic for air travel so we don’t have to lug a huge carseat around the airport! Installation utilizes a very user friendly LATCH system and is super fast to install and uninstall from vehicle. I love that there is no messing with difficult connectors and that the LATCH straps store nicely in the back of the seat when not in use by simply tightening the LATCH strap. Once we got the seat in the car, the color coded belt path made it easy for my daughter to know exactly where her seatbelt should rest every time - it was like a lightbulb went off for her when I explained how the red path was used! She had no issues buckling herself in for each ride. In addition, the seat cover material is very soft and comfortable for the rider. Surface messes easily wipe off with a damp cloth, and if a more thorough cleaning is needed the covers remove from the shell easily and can be hand washed. In my six year old’s opinion, the (dishwasher safe) cupholders are handy not only for her drinks and snacks, but for whatever treasures she may be collecting that day! She says it is very comfortable and is her favorite carseat to date. The seat put her in the proper position every time we got in the car and made it easy for her to maintain that position. After using the Skyline for a while I can honestly say there is really not anything I would consider a drawback to this seat. The only thing I found a little surprising was that taking the high back portion off of the seat base is a bit different than I anticipated, and makes a couple fairly loud pops/clicks. When they tell you to press on the seat back, they mean it - I felt I had to press rather hard. I also found that after I had the back laying flat I had to get the seat off the ground to remove the seat back from the base. This was not in any way difficult, but I was surprised by the fact that it was manual force to remove the back instead of some sort of latch. Overall we would absolutely recommend the Britax Skyline 2-Stage Belt Positioning Booster to anybody we know, and are thrilled to have one! Thank you very much to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this booster seat!

Amazing Booster Seat

CIrgens

Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me the Britax Skyline 2-Stage Booster Seat to try. My daughter and I absolutely love it. It is so easy to install, and I love that it still has the LATCH attachment. It was not as easy to convert to a backless booster and I thought it would be. You are supposed to just be able to bend the back of the booster back until it snaps off, but I felt like I was going to break it. I had to apply a lot of pressure to get it to snap off. It is very easy to snap back on though. The booster is so easy for us to use and the color-coded belt paths are such a big help. My daughter loves the attached cups holders. I love that it can truly grow with my child. She is tall enough to use just the backless booster but I am so thankful for the added protection that the back of the booster provides. We have moved this around in our car several times and it is so much easier than a traditional car seat to move. I would highly recommend this to any of my friends or family.

  • Britax Skyline praised for ease of installation and comfort

We have the Britax Skyline. It’s so easy to install (my 6 year old can do it) and feels very sturdy. My son says it’s plush and comfortable.

  • Difficulty converting Skyline to backless mode leads to alternative recommendation

The Britax Highpoint and Skyline are great boosters in highback mode, but once you go to convert them to backless it’s HARD. I felt like I was going to break the seat. I returned the seat and got a Chicco KidFit.

  • CPSTs consider Britax boosters against combination seats

He may still benefit from harnessing at his age/maturity/size but I’d avoid a Graco combo seat as the harness mode is outgrown quickly. A Britax Grow With You or Chicco MyFit is okay in a tighter back seat but the top harness slot might be outgrown quickly and they’re bulky as boosters. CPSTs here often recommend dedicated boosters like the Britax Skyline.
