We were impressed upon arrival with the clean packaging. Straw and 360 top are covered so people cannot touch while in the store. It suggests using with children 9+ months, and I could definitely see this cup growing with your child. My toddler is the one using the cup and so far it has received a thumbs up from him.\nThe straw is made from a thick silicone top to bottom. We love this feature because it isn't like other cups that have that hard plastic like Tupperware. (Not a fan of the hard plastics that stain.) We haven't seen any leaking even with my teething toddler chewing on the cup. The 360 top is also made just as durable. It even has handles if you're needing to start from the 360 for younger children. The cup and attachments are all dishwasher safe as well.\nWith all the wonderful things being said there were a handful of things that can also be considered. Being that the cup has silicone features, you have to be weary of what soaps you're using to clean it. If not rinsed well the child will be left tasting soap. Ask for the handles on the 360 cup it may make it difficult to place in some cup holders. Last but not least, the cup itself is not great at keeping the liquids cold.
