I love my US Senators!
I have 5 US senators and I really like these reels.
If you want a reel that will last
Incredibly well built! If you want a reel that will last forever this is a great choice.
Coming for you "Bad Boy!"
I own three of these reels and love them! Otherwise, why would I buy three? I upgraded these reels for large groupers and sharks with heavy-duty bridges and ceramic bearings. Now the stock reels for ordinary-size fishing work just fine. It's the real "Bad Boys" that one runs into [once in a while] that place extraordinary stress on the reel. Yes, I understand this would place a [small?] price increase on the reel. Perhaps create a new model called the "Bad Boy Special Senator 1 ?" Just a thought...Hoping I gave you boys and girls at Penn a good laugh! Always wish you well!

What do you guys think about Penn reels?
I have a couple Penn reels and they are by far my favorite. They hold up to saltwater and surf fishing like a champ. I’ve had one for 15 years and still works like new. Definitely worth the money.

That's a Penn Senator, great reel. Very durable, I've used one for years surf fishing. Paired with that rod it could handle some big fish.
Help identifying Penn Senator reel
It's a Penn Senator 113, likely early 70s based on the maroon side plates. The cross bars are blank, which was common for that era. Great reel, I've restored a few. Check the handle for the part number.

Restored vintage Penn Senators - looking for info
Restored these two Senators I got at a garage sale. They are built like tanks, just needed new drag washers and some grease. Planning to use them for deep sea fishing this summer.
