Watch Out For

highThe foam in the headrest can crack over time, potentially compromising safety, and Graco may not replace it.
mediumInstallation rear-facing can be extremely frustrating and may require a CPST or creative solutions like a rolled towel.
mediumThe seat is wider (19 inches) and may not fit well in smaller cars or for three-across setups.
lowStraps can twist easily and the buckle may pinch a child's legs.

Community Q&A

Why is the TriRide so difficult to install rear-facing?
The recline mechanism and tight space can make getting a secure fit challenging; some recommend checking the recline position, using a towel, or consulting a CPST.
Is the TriRide comfortable for tall toddlers?
Mixed; some say their tall kids are fine, but others report the seat is shallow and padding is thin, causing discomfort on long rides.
Did Graco fix the cracked foam headrest issue?
Based on user reports, the problem still occurs in newer units, and some users found Graco unhelpful in replacing parts.

  • User debating return of TriRide due to installation struggles and considering SlimFit

We have the Graco TriRide and the Extend2Fit. The TriRide is SO hard to install rear-facing. I literally dread moving it. I wish I could return it but I'm past the window. Honestly considering selling it on marketplace and getting another Extend2Fit or the SlimFit. The TriRide is just not user-friendly.

  • Question about TriRide recline and comfort for tall toddlers

Has anyone found a trick to get a more upright install for the TriRide? My baby's head flops forward when he falls asleep and it's terrifying. Also, he's already looking cramped at 18 months. Are there any aftermarket inserts that work? Or should I just give up and get a different seat?

  • Positive review highlighting comfort and value despite some bulk

We've been using the TriRide for 2 years now and overall I'm really happy. It's a bit heavy to move between cars but my daughter seems comfy enough. The cupholders are a big hit. For the price, it's a solid choice. The straps do get twisted sometimes though. But safety wise I feel good about it.

  • Parent of multiples recommends TriRide as an affordable, safe option for multiple kids

We have 4 of the Graco TriRide seats and they've been great. Used them for our twins and singletons after they outgrew infant seats. They're budget friendly and I feel they're safe. Crashed tested (unfortunately) and kids were totally fine. Not the fanciest but they work.

  • Severe installation difficulty and cracked foam complaint

This seat is impossible to install tightly. I'm a car guy and I wrench on things, but I cannot get this thing to stop moving side to side. Also just took the cover off to wash and the foam in the headrest is completely broken. This is a known defect from my research. Returning immediately.
