Great vest

Yestodtom

Great life vest for my daughter. It is simple and easy to use. The buckles are adjustable and are easy to open and close. The vest does not fade in the sun even if left out. It is true to size. Definately recommend.

Cute and useful

Nate1988

I really wanted a safe vest for my child and I am very confident with this Ocean 7 vest. The pattern is very cute and bright. It is extremely easy to see in the water. I like that it is USCG approved.

Q

Do customers report this vest runs true to size and fits the stated 50–90 lb / chest ~26–29 in range without large gaps?

Fit And SizinghighProduct Data
A

Yes — customers report this vest runs true to size for the stated 50–90 lb (chest ~26–29 in) range, with reviews explicitly calling it “true to size.” The open‑side design plus three adjustable (lengthened) chest/side straps helps eliminate large gaps when the vest is properly fastened.

Q

Does this model include a crotch (anti-ride-up) strap or other hardware to prevent the vest from riding up over a child's head?

SafetyhighProduct Data
A

No — this model does not include a crotch (anti‑ride‑up) strap. The Oceans 7 Youth Type III secures with three adjustable side/chest straps (lengthened chest straps for expanded fit) and is designed to remain below the child’s head when properly fastened; intended for children 50–90 lb (chest ≈26–29 in).

Q

What is the specified buoyancy (flotation) rating for this youth PFD (in pounds or Newtons)?

SafetyhighWeb Search
A

This Oceans 7 USCG‑approved youth Type III PFD (50–90 lb) is required by USCG standards to provide at least 11 pounds of buoyancy — about 49 newtons (11 lbf × 4.44822 N/lbf).

USCG/CFR buoyancy requirement for youth-size PFDs (11 lbf for 50–90 lb) and NIST conversion factor for lbf→N.

Q

Is this Type III youth vest intended to turn an unconscious child face-up, or is it designed only for conscious/active users?

SafetyhighWeb Search
A

We consider this Oceans 7 USCG‑approved Type III youth vest a flotation aid intended for conscious, active users — it is not designed or certified to reliably turn an unconscious child face‑up in the water; Type I (offshore) jackets are the style intended to turn most unconscious wearers face‑up. Q

Fit And SizinghighProduct Data
A

This Oceans 7 youth life jacket fits chest sizes about 26–29 in (66–74 cm); with all three straps fully extended the maximum chest circumference is about 29 inches (≈74 cm). Allow for some variation depending on the child’s body shape and how tightly the straps are adjusted.

Q

What are the recommended cleaning/care instructions (machine wash, hand wash, drying) to avoid damaging the EPE foam or nylon?

Care InstructionshighWeb Search
A

We recommend rinsing the vest after every use (especially after salt or chlorinated water) and spot-cleaning or hand-washing it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent; rinse thoroughly to remove all soap. Do not machine wash, machine dry, dry-clean, use bleach or strong solvents, or apply direct heat or wring the vest — these actions can damage the EPE foam and nylon; instead hang to air-dry completely out of direct sunlight and store dry in a cool, well-ventilated place. Q

Does the vest include reflective tape, high-visibility panels, or an attached safety whistle for low-light/rescue situations?

SafetyhighWeb Search
A

No — this Oceans 7 U.S. Coast Guard–approved Youth Life Jacket (Type III) does not include reflective tape, dedicated high-visibility panels, or an attached safety whistle; the product description and retailer listing only note bright colors, three adjustable straps, and EPE foam for flotation.
