  • Mention as a budget car seat option

If you need less expensive but still a good option, the Safety First Grow and Go (rear faces to 40 lb) is $120 on Amazon for Black Friday.

  • Long-term user satisfied with longevity

We have the safety 1st grow and go. Got it when my youngest was 6 months old, he will be 5 in four months and we are still using it. He’s almost outgrown the 5 point harness, when he does we will just switch to booster mode with the seatbelt.

  • Mixed reviews with strong negative feedback on installation and design

calicodynamite: 'If you mean the Grow and Go All-in-1 — DO NOT get that seat. ... It’s annoying to install - has this random requirement that it has to be lightly touching the seat in front of it or at least very close ... The cup holders screw out way too easily ... Recently the straps have been having this issue where they somehow keep getting pulled from under seat so one strap ends up being longer than the other ... The little slots on the side that are meant to hold the straps out of the way just don’t work.' Old-Sherbert112: 'This seat was junk. Never would recommend this. My 4th and last baby was always getting tipped sideways.' tinybookworm: 'I’ve loved the safety first one! We got one for grandma’s car and liked it so much we got one for our car ... worst part has been the cup holders rotate out easily, but that seems like a little thing to me.' Soupisdelish: 'We don’t mind our safety 1st…the most annoying part is that we can’t use the seat belts to install, but once we figured out a good install, it’s fine. I like graco better, but it’s good enough.'

  • Known tipping issue with seatbelt installation

Only check for movement at the belt path BUT the Go and Grow is tippy with a seatbelt install, known issue. Installing with lower anchors keeps it from tipping because those are closer together - not as wide as the seatbelt.
