I HATED our Diono Radian car seat! It is HEAVY as shit and an enormous pain in the ass to install... While I love Radians, they are a fickle install and they are frequently too tall for rear facing in small cars. Also, in terms of boosters, they are sort of lousy... Dionos have so many weird rules and quirks that it’s so very easy to improperly use the seat... Radians have a metal frame. Typically, the ten year seats do... This seat has a steel frame. The downside is that it’s super heavy.

Installation issues with Diono 3R in Honda Prologue
I cannot get a snug fit on the Diono 3R... All tethers are connected and pulled as tight as I could get them... Did you read the car seat manual? Nothing about the Prologue is different than any other car... It looks like you are using the LATCH connectors but haven’t synched them tight... I prefer to use the seatbelt install method personally.

CPST discussion on Diono 3R not recommended, company issues, and alternatives
This is not a seat generally recommended. If it was being discontinued, I wouldn't cry. The company is going through some upheaval recently... The basic Diono 3R without sides probably doesn’t pass the new side impact standards... For narrow and a combination seat, I'd look at the Chicco MyFit and Graco Tranzitions/Wayz... There is a lot going on at Diono lately, such as changes of ownership.
