The products were very good
The products were very good. More than I’d expected them to be. The color of the diaper bag is beautiful and I know my daughter in love will be happy with it.

- Some users recommend bending the wire arm slightly or using a small swivel, but others note that newer models have a curved clevis to mitigate this.
- What color works best?

vs Joe's Flies
Some users suggest Joe's Flies as an alternative inline spinner, especially for trout, due to different action.

Success with Rooster Tails despite initial doubts
I've caught more fish on a 1/8 oz white Rooster Tail than anything else. I've gotten trout, bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and even a walleye on them. They're great for beginners because they're simple to use—just cast and retrieve steady. I will say that sometimes the blade doesn't spin right away if you don't start the retrieve fast enough, but overall they're my go-to confidence lure.

Is this a good bait? Beginner seeks advice
Those rooster tails are fire. I've caught bass, pike, and trout on them. The 1/6 oz in brown trout pattern is killer in my local river. They're cheap enough that you don't get pissed when you lose one. Just check the hook sharpness sometimes, but they work right out of the package.

Rooster Tail style alternatives and preferences
I like rooster tails for pressured stocker trout. They make less noise than a Panther Martin on the splash. The single hook models are great for wild trout water where trebles are banned. I'd go with a size 0 or 1 in white or yellow. Panther Martin casts farther and runs deeper, but sometimes you need that subtle approach.

Downsides of Rooster Tails: blade issues and durability
My only complaint is that sometimes the blade will fold behind the line and not spin. I've had to manually flip it out a few times. Also the hackle gets torn up after a bunch of pike. For the price you can't really complain, but a Mepps is a bit more consistent on the spin. Still, I always have a few in my box.
