Would LOVE extra boards
We are enjoying this product as a family (and I intend on using it in the classroom was well). My only upset is that there is only one board and I cannot find anywhere to purchase extra boards.
Not a good precursor to coordinate graphing
Do not use this as an intro to coordinate graphing. The coordinates are set up backwards. It would be much better and more useful if the coordinates were given as number first, then letter which would better correspond with the (x,y) coordinates. Giving the letter first on this item encourages the eye to look for the y coordinate first.
Box and description a little misleading
I purchased this expecting to get 3-4 grids in the box as shown on the box. I could not find in the description off Scholastic or on the box where it says you only get 1 grid. It is OK for one to two individuals to use. Very disappointed that I can also not find where to purchase more grids?
Great STEAM Activity for Art Loving Children!
This is a perfect STEAM activity for my art-loving (but not so STEAM loving) daughter. My daughter loves color-by-number coloring books so she instantly enjoyed the "match & build" and "color by number" activities. My daughter is 7 years old and we work on the "coordinates" and "coding" together. I love that this activity can grow with your child. I think the 5+ age recommendation is very accurate!
Great Set! My Child Keeps Playing With It.
My child loves playing video games like Minecraft and also likes building Lego. He is 6 but learning coding at school. This kit allows him to explore piece by piece building and instructional design.
So much fun for all ages!
My kiddos spent hours playing with the dots and trying to create the designs that are provided. They can even get creative and make their own designs too which makes it even more fun for all ages. The kiddos couldn't wait to play with it again each day.
Stem fun
I keep it on our kitchen table and our son sits at the table in the mornings and in the afternoons to complete one.
So cute
My nephew loved this. He loved All of the different colors. He did try to put one in his mouth so parent supervision is needed with this game
My kid absolutely loved this.
My son absolutely loved creating with this. He followed some of the patterns and even made his own. He still pulls this out to play almost daily.
Excellent
Amazing product and educational. Kiddos had a great time playing with it individually as well as together with guidance. Adults like it as well. Will definatly purchase more products from this company.
Great child toy
Great learning toy for people of all ages. Great for learning and practicing numbers, colors, letters and graphing! I would definitely recommend this product to learning instructors and childcare providers.
Neat gadget
The STEM Pixel will help on children's critical thinking skills & while it is entertaining for awhile. It becomes boring and children were uninterested. I would recommended for 3-5 age groups for purchasing. 7-8 year olds may not have much interest.
Kids favorite activity!
I received this product in exchange for review and could not have been happier! Not only did I enjoy watching the kids learn with this but they play with it for hours. They love being able to solve the puzzle and even creating their own.
Creative fun!
We enjoyed playing the Stem Explorers Pixel Challenge as a family. The set came with a project booklet that was fun to follow along. This was also a great creative play activity when we made up our own designs. My only complaint about the product was that the cubes were made of foam and didn't always fit into the tray nicely. Overall, this was a great STEM toy that was perfect for keeping minds active in the summer.
My daughter loves this!
This really entertains my child and makes her use her brain. The difficulty levels go from simple to complex. STEM learning at it's finest! I will say I wish it was slightly bigger as the Tiny cubes are hard to handle. Maybe if they were made of a different material.
Endless learning
My family loves all things STEM. My little one wants to be an engineer...so this way the perfect gift. They activities are family interactive. The colors are appropriate for mental simulation. I would recommend for elementary age children.
It good but
Stem explorers pixel art challenge was great for my six year old. She caught on very fast, the instructions are easy to follow and get a little challenging as you go. The only thing that is not great is the blocks are foam so they do not stay in place. They easily come out of squares as you are putting another block in. If the blocks were maybe plastic and stayed in place this game would be perfect.
Thinking about getting another!
My daughter used this product as soon as we received it. It's very interactive and actually makes her think of which spaces the blocks go in. I'm gonna buy one for my autistic nephew and niece!
