I was told to get an infant seat and a separate stroller frame but honestly the travel system is amazing. We used the infant seat for 9 months and now use the stroller. I got a Baby Trend double jogger stroller. It's a good brand. It lasted my friends two years before giving it to me. Still looks brand new. But safety wise, any car seat sold in the US is safe. The more expensive ones have more features, but if it's in your budget, it works.

Last-minute purchase of Baby Trend travel system during pregnancy
I picked the Baby Trend Passport Cargo Travel System with EZ-Lift 35. I looked at many and they all had similar features and all were 4+ stars. I picked this one because I liked how it looked. The price was great :) ... Baby is 5 days old and I love the stroller! The click in of the car seat to the base and to the stroller is a game changer. It’s super simple to navigate. I’m very happy with this brand! When the stroller is folded, gravity wants to pull it back open. There’s a small clip that hooks to a bar and it keeps it close. It’s not a big deal at all. Just annoying sometimes.

I actually have the Baby Trend Passport Cargo and I love it! It has so much storage and it’s super easy to use. The car seat is lightweight and easy to carry. I got it on sale for $99 and it’s been great. I have one and I love it! I was going to buy a Graco but chose this one because I liked the look of it and it came with so many features. I love that the infant seat is so light and the stroller is easy to push. I’m a FTM and don’t have a lot of money to spend on a travel system, but I’m very happy with my Baby Trend!
